When One Chapter Closes

Sometimes it’s really hard to let things go.  But when we hold on to people or things that no longer serve a purpose in our lives, we stunt our growth and we will not be happy.  We all go through times and seasons in our lives…chapters, if you will.  What may have been a necessary part of one chapter of your life may not be needed in the next chapter. And if you happen to bring something from an old chapter into a new chapter that was not meant to be, you end up changing the story line causing you to miss out on the joy of the next chapter.

People are such an important part or our individual growth and development; that’s why it’s so important to try to gain an understanding as to what purpose each person serves in our lives, and vice versa.  From my experience, knowing why a person is in your life better equips you with the strength and courage to either let them go when the purpose of the relationship has been fulfilled, or to hold on to them even when the going gets tough.

When you are tuned in to the frequency of the relationship, the purpose of the relationship, you will know when it’s time to let go, or when it’s time to sacrifice.  In order to “tune in,” take some time to meditate on your relationships to find out why certain people are in your life.  Understanding the purpose will allow you to see things accurately so that you can interact accordingly in order for everyone to get everything they should out of the experience.

Too many times we miss the point of a relationship, which could have very well equipped us for the next chapter of our lives.

As one chapter closes, another one begins.  Endings always represent beginnings.  -love, sj
